Christal Yost - Bio
For just over 45 years Christal Yost has been drawing, painting and sculpting, and for the last 20 years Christal has been working in three dimensions creating sculpture using stone, clay, mixed media and more recently textiles and fiber.
Christal is currently developing her work environment in order to realize her dream of moving from a corporate job to becoming self employed as a full time artist, maker and arts educator through community project development and production.
Degrees in Biochemistry, International travel and a deep respect for cultural diversity are all important influences that inform her work in the arts. Training in the arts have included courses at universities, regional art schools and private lessons. Christal's portfolio includes oil paintings, clay sculptures, Tennessee marble sculptures, as well as fabric and fiber works. She operates a textile and fiber studio in Knoxville TN offering private and group lessons to children and adults.
